Smoking is the major cause of poor wound healing and ugly scars. Therefore it is important not to smoke 14 days before and after surgery. By breast reduction and breast lift, it is recommended that you do not smoke for up to 6 weeks before and after surgery.
It is important that you are not on your period when you have surgery. So make sure you have that in mind when you book your surgery.
Drink plenty of water and eat healthy 14 days before surgery.
Do not take any medication containing acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, etc.)and other medication and natural remedies that can affect blood clotting (eg Q10, fish oils and vitamin E). You should stop with this approx. 3 weeks before surgery
On the day of surgery you should take a thorough shower with soap washing body and hair. Meet at the clinic without makeup.
Dress in loose, comfortable clothing like shirt with zipper and flat shoes without laces.
Jewellery and piercings should be removed before you show up.
With major surgery, be sure to:
- Agreement with a caregiver, you must be picked up at the airport since you are not allowed to drive after a breast surgery.
- When having a breast augmentation surgery, be sure to have glasses, towels, etc. at a height where you do not have to lift your arms.
